Natal is the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, in the northeast region of Brazil.
Known as the "City of the Sun", Natal has stunning beaches and a pleasant tropical climate all year round.
Among its attractions are the Fort of the Three Kings, an old Portuguese colonial fort; the Parque das Dunas, a beautiful ecological park with a great diversity of flora and fauna; and the popular Ponta Negra promenade, which has a wide range of restaurants and shops.
The city is also known for its lively cultural scene, with numerous music festivals and sporting events.
To get to Natal, it is possible to fly to the Natal International Airport or arrive by bus from other cities in the northeast of Brazil. Natal is approximately 2 hours by plane from São Paulo and 1.5 hours by plane from Rio de Janeiro.
By bus, the trip from Recife to Natal can take around 5 hours.
The city is located on the northeastern coast of Brazil, bordering the Atlantic Ocean to the north and the Parnamirim municipality to the south.
