Ilha de Boipeba is a large island that belongs to the Tinharé Archipelago, in the State of Bahia, in northeastern Brazil.
It has a tropical climate, which allows you to enjoy these paradisiacal beaches all year round.
On the island there are four towns, the main one is Velha Boipeba, and the other three towns are Moreré, Monte Alegre and São Sebastião.
There are no cars on the island, you have to get around on foot, or with tractors or ATVs. It is also possible by boat or other aquatic means.
The Church of the Divine Holy Spirit is located in Velha Boipeba, it is one of the most important monuments on the island. It is a neoclassical church that was built in the 17th century by the Jesuits.
The Museu do Osso is another place to visit, where the bones of various marine animals from the area are exhibited. There are bones of whales, turtles, among others.
Boipeba has a great natural heritage, it is protected by UNESCO. It has been recognized as a Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site.
For this reason, on the island you have to do ecological tourism to preserve this incredible nature.
