It is located about 105 kilometers west of the port of Paranaguá and about 380 kilometers southwest of São Paulo.
The city is located on a plateau at an altitude of around 934 meters above sea level, and has a vast metropolitan area that spans more than 15,000 square kilometers.
In addition, it is located in a strategic region that connects Brazil with Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
