Ubatuba is a coastal city located in the state of São Paulo, in Brazil.
It is located about 225 km from the city of São Paulo and 340 km from Rio de Janeiro. With more than 100 beaches in its territory, it is known as the "capital of surfing" in Brazil and is a popular tourist destination throughout the year.
In addition to its beaches, the city has exuberant tropical vegetation and environmental preservation areas, including the Serra do Mar and the Serra do Mar Biological Reserve.
Among its main attractions are the Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar, Praia do Félix, Praia do Itamambuca and the historic center with colonial buildings and the church of Santa Rita.
To get to Ubatuba you can take a bus from São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro or drive along the BR-101 highway.
