Saquarema is a coastal city located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Known as the "National Capital of Surfing", Saquarema is famous for its beaches, waves and surfing competitions, and boasts a variety of other tourist attractions, such as the Saquarema Lagoon and the Church of Our Lady of Nazareth.

Saquarema is located in the east of the state of Rio de Janeiro, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
The city borders the municipality of Araruama to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the municipality of Silva Jardim to the south, and the municipality of Casimiro de Abreu to the west.
