Saquarema is a coastal city located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Known as the "national surfing capital", it has world famous beaches such as Itaúna and Praia da Vila.
In addition to being a popular destination for surfers, Saquarema also has tourist attractions such as the Church of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré and the Saquarema Lagoon.
The city is easily accessible from Rio de Janeiro via the BR-101 highway.
