Petrópolis is located about 68 km north of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
The most common way to get there is by car, following the BR-040 highway.
It is also possible to arrive by bus from Rio de Janeiro, as there are several bus companies that offer regular services to Petrópolis from the Novo Rio bus station in Rio de Janeiro.
You can also arrive by plane at the Rio de Janeiro International Airport and from there take a bus or a car to Petrópolis.
