To get to Penedo from Rio de Janeiro, you can take highway BR-116 to the city of Resende, and from there follow highway RJ-163 to Penedo, a journey of approximately 2 hours by car.
It is also possible to arrive by bus, from the Rio de Janeiro Bus Terminal, with several companies that travel to Penedo.
In addition, the city is located about 15 kilometers from the city of Itatiaia, where the Itatiaia National Park is located, so it can be included in a travel itinerary through the region.
