Monte Verde is a small city located in the Mantiqueira region, in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
It is located at an altitude of around 1,500 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains and native forests.
It is about 165 kilometers from the city of São Paulo and about 450 kilometers from Rio de Janeiro.
The city has a cool and pleasant climate, with temperatures ranging between 5°C in winter and 25°C in summer.
