Guarapari is located in the state of Espíritu Santo, 50 kilometers from Vitória.
The name "Guarapari" comes from the Tupí-Guarani language, which was spoken by the indigenous peoples who inhabited the region before the arrival of European settlers. The word "guarapary" means "house of healing" or "place of healing," as the indigenous people believed that the waters of the region had healing powers and were used to treat various ailments.
The whole region possesses several granitic outcrops and many coves and with sheltered bays.
Guarapari is the main tourist city of the state of Espíritu Santo, attracts for its natural beauties and monastic (radioactive) sands, with supposedly therapeutic virtues.

Playa de Morro, is one of the most popular beaches, with crystal clear waters and a stunning panoramic view from the surrounding morro.
Meaípe Beach, is famous for its white and fine sand.
Praia do Morro has more than 3 km extension, it is the largest of Guarapari.
The Paulo César Vinha State Park is ideal for nature lovers, with walking trails, picnic areas and a large variety of species of fauna and flora.
Lagoa de Caraís is a beautiful freshwater lagoon.
Mirante do Pescador is a viewpoint from where you have a panoramic view of the city and the sea, where there are beautiful sunsets.
The historical center or ancient town of Guarapari has several historical and architectural buildings of great value, such as the Mother Church, the Fort of São Francisco Xavier and the Chapel of Santa Rita.
