Diamantina is located in the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil.
It is located in a mountainous region and is about 300 km north of Belo Horizonte, the state capital.
The city is located at an altitude of more than 1,200 meters above sea level and is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes, including parks and mountains.
In addition, Diamantina is located in the heart of the Serra do Espinhaço, a mountain range that extends through much of Minas Gerais.
