It is located almost 100 kilometers north of São Paulo.
Its metropolitan area is made up of 20 municipalities, has an estimated population of 3.3 million inhabitants, and is one of the ten largest agglomerations in Brazil.
It is a large urban center, which stands out for its quality of life and for having one of the largest middle and upper classes in the country.
Campinas is colloquially called the Princess of the West, also known as the City of Swallows, since the city was on the route of these birds during the time of the coffee barons.
