Cabo Frio is a tourist city in the state of Rio de Janeiro, it is the largest in the "Los Lagos" region.
Its name comes from the fact that it is located on a peninsula, hence the name Cabo and its waters are colder than some cities in the region, hence Cold.
Its beaches are of fine white sand, which, since it does not contain mica, does not get hot and you can walk on it without burning yourself.
Its waters are transparent, turquoise in color and calm waves.
The best known beaches are Praia do Forte, Praia das Conchas and Praia do Peró.
The city of Cabo Frio is located 27 km from Búzios and 13 km from Arraial do Cabo.
The beaches are usually wide, which allows a wide variety of activities to be done with the whole family, and also extreme sports, surfing, diving, snorkeling, turtle watching, among some water or outdoor activities.
A point of interest is the Itajurú Canal. It is a boarding area, with a waterfront where you can take a bike ride or walk.
The sunset on the canal has the best postcards of Cabo Frio.
The Statue of Anjo Caido, is a monument that emulates a fallen angel. It is located on the banks of the Itajurú channel.
