Armação dos Búzios or simply Búzios, is a city in the State of Rio de Janeiro, on the Brazilian coast.
This former fishing village is now a prominent tourist center.
It is located 175 kilometers east of Rio de Janeiro, on an 8-kilometer peninsula with 26 beaches.
On the one hand it receives warm equatorial currents, and on the other the currents that come from the South Pole, which means that it has beaches with warm and icy waters at the same time.
Its strong winds are ideal for water sports.
The average annual temperature is about 25 °C.
In summer, the climate is hot and humid and reaches an average maximum of 29 °C.
In winter the average maximum drops to 19 °C.
From April to September the probability of rain is very low, while between November and March it is high.
The peninsula is the tourist area that has about 8 beaches, and is where most of the Buzios inns and more accommodations are located.
The center is small, and its main street is Rua das Pedras. In its 4 blocks is where you will find a large number of bars, restaurants, and shops.
Some of its most popular beaches are Azeda, Ferradura, Tartaruga, João Fernandes and Geribá.
