Santarém is a city located in the state of Pará, in the northern region of Brazil.
It is located on the right bank of the Amazon River, about 800 km from the city of Belém.
It is also located near the confluence of the Tapajós and Amazonas rivers.
The city has an area of 22,887 km² and a population of around 300,000.
