Boa Vista is the capital of the Brazilian state of Roraima
It is located on the banks of the Branco River, it is the only Brazilian capital located completely north of the Equator Line.
The radial urban layout was planned in 1944 by civil engineer Darcy Aleixo Derenusson, similar to the streets of Paris, France.
It was founded in the year 1890 and has a population of approximately 400,000 inhabitants. The city has a humid tropical climate, with average temperatures of 27 degrees Celsius.
To get to Boa Vista, you can fly into Boa Vista International Airport, which has flights from several cities in Brazil and some international destinations.
Among the tourist attractions of Boa Vista are Parque Anauá, a beautiful urban park with waterfalls and nature trails; the Municipal Market, where you can find typical products of the region and a great variety of handicrafts; and the Monumento aos Garimpeiros, a statue that pays homage to the miners who worked in the extraction of diamonds in the region.
In addition, Boa Vista is an important commercial and service center for the Amazon region, which gives it great economic and cultural dynamism. The city also has a wide variety of restaurants and bars that offer typical food from the region, such as tacacá and tucupi.
